We’re looking for an ideas based Senior Designer to wow us with their creative, witty and strategic approach to design. As an integral member of our small Design team, you’ll love to roll your sleeves up and get involved, working on anything and everything from customer comms and events to packaging. A passion for the Virgin brand and can do attitude are essential, train spotting skills optional.
As part of the Marketing department and working as part of the Brand Design Team you’ll be responsible for both the creation and Art Direction of branded Virgin Trains content and collateral, in line with the company’s commercial, brand and marketing objectives. This includes concept creation, project planning and management, design for print, digital, customer experience and events, as well as some artworking here and there.
Reporting to the Creative Design Lead you’ll ensure day-to-day brand design requests are taken care of efficiently and effectively by supporting managing the workflow and helping prioritise BAU. You’ll work closely with the Brand Manager to help decipher briefs, prioritise workload, ensuring that deadlines are met. You’ll collaborate with the copywriter and support with the creative development of the Brand Designer.
You’ll be a great creative with a passion for the Virgin brand and all things design, who never settles for “that’ll do”. Adaptable across all forms of media, from emails to events, you’re a great communicator, planner and organiser too. You’ll have been in-house or in-agency for at least five years and have either line management or designer development experience under your belt.
Confident, optimistic and proactive, you’ll be expected to lead and inspire while always striving to find the best result, while being ready to dive into anything thrown your way.
You’ll be a great communicator and an independent self-starter, ready to develop and present creative solutions to any brief. Confident and happy to get stuck into all aspects of design, you’ll be eager to learn and develop yourself and others. A key part of this role includes travelling around our network to build relationships and get under the skin of the business and flying the flag for the Virgin brand.
