Biography
Nina Ruthe-Klein studied first communication and graphics design at the Universitiy of
applied science "Hochschule Niederrhein". From interest and curiosity in the interdisciplinary
work between graphic and product designers, she integrated the field of product design which
she closed in 1997 with distinction. Then she worked with a team in her own office in
Cologne and developed ideas and concepts for events and products. After the certification for
communication design in 2000, she freelanced as an Art Director for some projects in an
advertising agency. After a little while she worked again independently in her own office.
Since then two- as well as three-dimensional projects are compiled. Inspired by 3 sons who
decorate her life since 2001 more tumultuous, she designed her first product for children, a
chairsystem until the age of three called like a german song for kids „Lirum Larum“ in 1858.
Now the „LirumLarum” in two different versions is under licence and production preparation with
furniture manufacture Kaether and Weise and is introduced for the first time in this form to the wide
audience on ambiente in 2011 in Frankfurt.
