Our fast paced team seek a Creative Designer who is highly talented and versatile.
The role will take ownership of the design process from start to finish creating the highest quality design
work within agreed briefs, budgets and schedules.

The job offers a great opportunity to work across different genres – from crime and thrillers, women’s
fiction and literary, to biography, current affairs, history and sport.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Creative Designer to become a key member of the Art team.

This role will suit an established and proactive Designer with keen ambition to develop an author’s jackets,
to take ownership of our major brands, with the credibility to challenge trends and whose contribution
can ensure that Simon & Schuster UK become market leaders in both the print and digital design arena.

The Candidate Profile:
A strong awareness of current trends is essential as well as excellent design skills, creativity and innovation.
Good communication skills are a must as the role involves working directly with the editorial and sales teams,
commissioning illustrators, photographers and freelance designers.

Junior designer

Aston Greenlake Publishing is looking for a junior designer, ideally with at least a year's magazine design
experience, who is looking to step up to the next level and really take ownership of a project growing
by the month.

Working alongside a young team from our brand new offices next to the 02 Arena, you'll be responsible
for putting together a pacey monthly business magazine aimed at entrepreneurs and SMEs.

Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Editor producing an engaging and thought provoking monthly magazine.
- Working closely with the advertising team producing designs for clients advertising within the magazine.
- Overall responsibility for the day to day page layout of the magazine.
- Commissioning photographers and illustrators when required.
- Preparing and uploading pages to the printers online portal.

MULTI-DISCIPLINE DESIGN

The company I currently work for are looking to employ another designer.

At the moment I am the sole in house designer responsible for the print and web output for around 10
companies who all operate under the same umbrella and I have too much work and not enough ideas.

I am looking for someone to join me on either a full or part time basis working in Huddersfield (M62 J24), conveniently located between Manchester and Leeds.

Basic requirements are:

Knowledge of Adobe software - Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.
Knowledge of HTML and CSS with JavaScript / JQuery preferred.
Knowledge of production for print.
Enthusiasm and adaptability.

The job encompasses all aspects of design from branding and production of stationary to web
design/development and email marketing. You will need to be versatile and able to teach yourself how
to do things quickly. I have a fair amount of experience and have learned a lot since starting this
job - it is an excellent way to build a diverse portfolio quickly.

The successful candidate will be supplied with a MacBook Pro and will benefit from excellent in house
facilities including desktop Macs in an open plan office, large format printing and access to an in house
photography studio.

Sallary is competitive and will be based on experience.
