This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Fashion Designer, with experience of infant design, to apply their creative skills to new and challenging projects with a world leader in character art for licensing. Our client specialises in design for Apparel, particularly targeting the children’s market and uses the major retail multiples and high end textile designers as their primary sales and marketing channels.
The designer will implement the European strategy for one of the consumer segments and deliver the design assets from trend concept through to final content.
Your responsibilities will include range construction, layout of style guides, concept garments, identifying brand franchise priorities, establishing retail focused trends for apparel and other infant categories and briefing of freelancers.

THE POSITION: INTERACTIVE DESIGNER Reporting to RedLever's Creative Director in the US, the Interactive Designer will create websites, rich media units, marketing materials, interactive presentations, and online web interfaces. The successful candidate must be someone who is passionate about design and has a fluent understanding of the user experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Interactive Designer works closely with the creative team to help formulate the global interactive design strategy. He/She is responsible for the creation of visual brand assets and web/interactive experiences to advance RedLevers global strategic initiatives. The Interactive designer will be responsible for creating rich interactive solutions involving video, audio, and web technologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES Ideal candidates will have a convincing portfolio and proven track record designing web and banner interfaces that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are usable. Past experience on projects where the focus was on designing for the end user experience is a must.
* Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience (fine art, graphic design, interactive design etc.)
* 3-5 years experience as an interaction designer or visual designer
* Must have strong Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, XHTML & CSS
* Demonstrated understanding of website usability/web optimization best practices
* Understand core design methodologies
* Strong knowledge of user interface and functionality design required
* Ability to conceptualize and communicate compelling and effective ideas
* Good communication, time management and collaboration skills
* A strong portfolio, illustrating a history of successful interactive design
* Given the internationality of the company fluency in English is a must

The role involves developing inspiring and effective designs for a range of print and digital resources (including textbooks, posters, CD-ROMs, websites, and interactive whiteboard materials).
Reporting to a Design Project Manager, and working in cross-functional teams, this is a highly creative and hands-on role. You will work on all aspects of the design process, from original concept design, through imaginative visualizations and stunning layouts, to final files ready for print or digital delivery. You will also, manage and co-ordinate the work of external suppliers.
You’ll be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications for both print and digital products, have strong organizational and communication skills, and be able to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as independently.
You should possess:
- exceptional design and typographic skills, and the ability to visualize
- strong creative vision and concept development skills
- a team-working approach to problem solving
- the ability to prioritize and manage a challenging workload in order to meet deadlines
- experience of managing freelance suppliers
You should be educated in Graphic Design to degree level (or equivalent), and have proven experience working in a professional publishing environment, producing design for print and digital products.
